Hussain Haqani and the Four

News of a message sent by President of Pakistan to Mike Molin has brought hurricane in Pakistan. It has definitely created a rift between the civilian government and armed forces and establishment.

Mansoor Ijaz, a prominent businessman, has disclosed that Pakistani ambassador in USA sent a special memo to Mike Molin through Mansoor. According to Mansoor, in the subject memo, President Zardari has requested USA to help him against the expected coup by Army after the Osama Bin Laden’s assassination on 2nd May 2011. He assured that he will bring pro-American people on key posts in army and establishment.

Army Chief Kiani is annoyed to the presidency on this highly point-able act. However, Zardari said that he did not ask anyone to convey this message. Hussain Haqani is passing through a terrible situation where he has been asked to come back and report to the president for explanation on this issue. He is not in good health these days. He will come to Pakistan to clarify his position. In his initial statement, he has denied the allegation strongly and said that Mansoor is lying.

Here, I would like to add my personal opinion on the matter. Our armed forces have proved their inability and incompetency to safeguard the motherland. There are a number of times when they could not perform as per their defined role in security. Ahmad Shuja Pasha and Ishfaq Pervez Kiani have disappointed in performing their professional duties. On the other hand, Zardari also committed a crime by asking Americans to control Pakistan Army. Prime Minister and his government are fully involved in corruption.

Nawaz Sharif has asked the government to conduct inquiry of the matter through a committee. However, everyone knows the credibility and performances of such commissions/committees formed in past. President is busy in disturbing MQM and PMLN through establishment and its weapons. Nawaz Sharif has always vowed that his party will not favour any unconstitutional move to remove a democratic government. However, the situation is alarming and anything can happen in coming days. If the government is toppled by undemocratic forces in coutry, it will not be good for the country. There are rumours of a government of technocrats on Bangladesh Model. However, once again, establishment will be on back of any such setup.

In my opinion, there is only one solution to this strange turn of politics. President and Prime Minister should resign from their posts and go for the next elections. Putting everything on Hussain Haqani would not be fair. He cannot do it by his own. He has played a role as ambassador. General Kiani and General Pasha have lost the mandate to carry on. They should also admit their negligence and leave their posts immediately. We need new faces in every organization. All FOUR will have to vacate the space.

Asif Ali Zardari – A Genius Politician

After the tragic assassination of Ms. Benazir Bhutto on 27th December, 2007, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari took over People’s Party as Co-Chairman. He announced that according to BB’s will, Bilawal Zardari would lead Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s party with an additional mid name Bhutto. It was a time when party workers from Sindh were in grief and they were raising fingers towards Punjab. The man came up with a new slogan “Pakistan Khappay” (We want Pakistan).

PPP formed federal and Punjab government by coalition with Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). However, within first few months, PML(N) got a message that PPP was fulfilling the interests of establishment and Retired General Pervez Musharraf and they were not interested in making up their promises with PML(N). PMLN quit federal cabinet.

On public pressure, PPP restored the non-functional judiciary and Mr. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry was reinstated. They deceived Nawaz Sharif again and again. Then, the inflation has rose up too much in last three years. Some other issues like Raymond Davis incident, killings of innocent foreigners and a youngster by armed forces further triggered the politicians and general public.

Imran Khan carried on his journey slowly and steadily. Finally he got success with managing to collect a very large number of people at Minar-e-Pakistan Lahore. People have high hopes with the great Pakistani cricketer. Even the leaders of PML(N) are upset and spellbound over Imran’s great popularity in common people. Educated class is ready to vote for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in next elections.

Imran has clearly urged to fight against corruption. He has said that he would not make alliance with PPP or PML(N). He said that he will introduce honest candidates in elections. Grandson of Allama Iqbal, Waleed Iqbal has joined PTI and he has assured Imran Khan his full support always. It is obvious that in coming days a number of famous political figures will be joining Imran Khan.

What is the fate of PML(N)? I am a strong supporter of PML(N). I have no doubt that PML(N) has served Punjab marvelously. Punjab is the only province where not even a single case of corruptions has been reported in last four years. Shahbaz Sharif is making untiring efforts to bring peace and prosperity to the people of Punjab. But in spite of this all, people are inclining towards PTI and they are not happy with PML(N) equally as they have complaints with PPP.

The main reason is PML(N)’s pathetic and below mark performance as the main opposition party in National Assembly and Senate. Let me say that PML(N) have disappointed their voters. Both Nawaz Sharif and Ch. Nisar Ali khan failed to deliver as a strong opposition party. Shahbaz Sharif kept on advising his elder brother again and again that they were losing their position with time. Nawaz Sharif, due to some unknown fears, kept a peaceful attitude towards PPP. He clearly vowed many times that he would not support any political move for toppling the government. Finally, the waters crossed the bridge and PPP government became a security risk. Now Nawaz Sharif woke up and started “Go Zardari Go” movement. But it was too late. Imran came, saw and conquered. Shahbaz Sharif’s lose language in PML(N) rally further damaged PML(N)’s image in educated class. On the other side, Imran spoke very well in his address.

Zardari and his team are enjoying the restlessness and panic in PML(N). They will linger on the elections until Imran gets high popularity in Punjab. Establishment also wants to strengthen PTI in Punjab as PML(N) has emerged as anti-establishment party. PML(N) has no method to counter for Imran’s increasing popularity. Imran Khan is playing the best inning in his political career. He is making best use of every day. Whereas, instead of speeding up the pace, Mian Nawaz Sharif is completely silent. After the Rally in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif has not issued a single statement about ongoing issues and political activities. This silence is benefiting to Khan. Shahbaz Sharif is still repeating his remarks about the president. Hence, PML(N) is a sure short loser in next setup and they cannot form federal or Punjab government. PTI will win many seats in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala. They will also win in KPK province. However, in my opinion, PPP will be the ultimate winner.

I salute to Asif Zardari for his evil genius qualities. No doubt, he is the biggest politician.
